Drifterly

All Buchla 200. And self-playing

Patch Notes:
The 259 VCO goes into a Low Pass Gate, which is being controlled by an envelope created on ch2 of the MARF. Ch1 of the MARF controls the pitch and clocks everything. The signal then goes into the 296 Spectral Processor and has separate frequency bands turned on an off by the 281 Function Generator. The 281 is being triggered by various steps of the MARF, providing 4 slow LFOs. There is also a mixer into which the 277 Delay Unit is fed. A few other things are being modulated on the 259 such as the timbre and symmetry

Mod Can Dance

Messing with the Modcan, along with the Serge. First I patched a wave shaped VCO on the Serge Paperface, using the Serge sequencer too. Then it goes over to the Modcan where the clock from the Serge triggers bass drum, snare and percussion sounds. Dance!

Topological Landscapes

Here is a new Benge album. It's another in the FORMS series, this one being made entirely on a Modcan-A modular system. Hope you like it!

Serger

A sine wave is sent to the Serge N-COM module, which produces a sequence of ‘staircased’ notes

The Programmer/Sequencer is being used to change the fundamental pitch of the sine wave

The rest of the patch is decorative (Serge delay and reverb modules and VCAs)

Benge Fugue

Here is a little piece I put together using the ARP2500 and a midi file. It is based on a Bach fugue, but I heavily manipulated the notes in my midi note editor so that it has the essence of the original but none of the actual melodies. I then sent the midi data to the ARP2500 via the Modcan MIDICV converter. The reverb is the EMT plate 140

Monop

Just had the Korg Monopoly fixed up - its sounding SWEET. I love the way the arpeggiator works in polyphonic mode - you can mess with the waveforms and octaves of each of the 4 notes as it goes along, which gets some unique results, sort of half way between an arpeggiator and sequencer in a weird way. The Buchla is doing the percussions, using filtered noise through the 194 bandpass filter and a mixer to change the sound in real time
