Creep Tour

Amongst a lot of things this last month or so, I went away on tour with Creep Show. It was fun and amazing! Here are some pictures from our gigs. Thanks to everyone involved behind the scenes, and to everyone who came along and saw us in action. It was great to catch up with some old friends on our travels, and to make some new ones too along the way

Wrangler Soup

A few weeks ago we (Wrangler) played as part of Subliminal Festival in Manchester. Our set was 80% new material - woo! Heres a small bowl of it:

Totnes

Had a great time in Totnes last week - I played at the little wonky Cinema with Jon Tye (Seahawks) as part of the very cool Sea Change festival. Also playing were some of my favourite people in the world - Nat (Lone Taxidermist), Gazelle Twin and Hannah Peel. What fun!

Its been a long time in the making, but finally our new album is available to pre-order here.

And we will be supporting John Grant at the end of March. SO EXCITED!

Scratchy

Phew, just back from a weekend in London of Wrangling, where we played a headline at the opening of the London Short Film Festival at the ICA. It was all about Scratch Video, see here. I took along my Panasonic video mixer and a load of VCRs / TV sets / video cameras and Dancon and original scratch video-er Nick Cope wrangled with them to our live set. FUN!!!

Buried

Strangely, having posted a few weeks ago about wanting to play in a cathedral - we found ourselves playing in a huge church in Bury! What a great experience - thank-you Curated Place. (2nd photo by Gary Sonic)

Ben Eyes sent me a link to this awesome film of Tangerine Dream live in 1975. Love the video effects! I dream of doing a tour of modernist cathedrals one day

Panic Stations

Here are some pictures from our series of Cotton Panic! performances with Jane Horrocks at the Manchester Internation Festival last week. It was great fun and really hard work and this week we are all feeling very Wrangled-out! These pics were taken by Chris Turner

Tourists

Speaking of Natalie. She appeared in the film adaptation we just performed of THE TOURIST at the BFI London (and previously Home/Manchester and Prince of Wales cinema/Brighton). Wrangler composed and performed the music live on stage while the film, by Tash Tung and Dan Conway, played on the big screen. WHAT FUN!! The run is now over, but we are hoping to do more soon...

Barbican Birthday Bashes

We had a marvellous time on Saturday playing at the Barbican in London as part of the Rough Trade 40th Birthday bash. It was a year ago that I played on that great stage for the Brian Eno Discrete Music Birthday bash! See this post

However, this time we (Wrangler) teamed up with John Grant and performed a brand new set of music for our headline show - which was pretty scary for us but A LOT OF FUN. Thanks to John, Ben Eyes, Dancon, Gary and the whole team it was an epic adventure!
