A study on the Ensoniq TS-12 digital Transwave synthesiser. I shot this on an analog video camera switching unit and sent it back into itself to create the feedback effects

Automatron

Here is a completely automated patch on 2 Buchla systems - a 200 series Easel (clone) and an original 100 series modular. The famous Low Pass Gates weren't introduced until the 200 series in the early 1970s, and there are two of them in the Easel. They are doing the percussive noises here. The rest is sustained tones from the 100 but it is all connected together using one randomised clock and the 8 step sequencer from the 100 and the 5 step sequencer from the 200. I added a very long delay from the Bel AD80 (around 3 seconds) and some EMT Plate reverb for good measure

I met up with Gavin at the Barbican do, and he returned my Roland Sh1 monosynth that I lent him. I had forgotten how lush this synth is! Its got a lovely rounded and warm sound. Here it is being sequenced from the Roland 100M analog sequencer. I filmed it on a vintage Hitachi VK C500E video camera, nice!

And I ran across this little beauty - Johnny Trunk's selection of BBC title sequences, from the 1950s to the 1980s. There are some really beautiful and clever things in here, most of which I had never seen before
